Equipped with a 7200RPM drive and a USB3.0 interface to accelerate transfer speeds up to 10x faster than USB2.0, this attractive super-slim drive delivers quick access to large, multi-media files such as HD movies and video games.

Nvidia brings Ion 2 Graphics processor for Netbooks

Nvidia, Santa Clara, California-based chip maker has launched its Ion 2 graphics for netbooks, which is about 40 percent smaller in physical size than the original Ion chip.

It seems that with Nvidia Ion 2, 3D gaming and 1080p HD videos will be now available on netbooks.

The company will introduce Ion 2, which will be available in two versions viz. an eight-core chip aimed at 10-inch netbooks, like Acer Aspire One 532g, and a 16-core version, for HP’s 11”- Mini 311 and Lenovo 12” Ideapad S12 netbooks.

It is reported that both versions will offer support for HDMI or DisplayPort technologies, which can take help of Window 7's Aero interface. Further, the 8-core version has a TDP of 6 watts; the 16-core version has a TDP of 13 watts.

The company has not detailed about the availability and price tag of the new devices based on Ino 2 platform.
